Ivanplats (Pty) Ltd is issuing this Request for Expressions of Interest to attract interested suppliers from the Mokopane Community to participate in the tendering process as the main Contractor on the following package:

1. General Description of the Works

Platreef is installing a PV plant on a 5ha area. An installation contractor is required to do the supervision, installation of the structures, panels and inverter station as well as the commissioning of the solar panel infrastructure.

The contractor will also supply intelligent string combiner boxes, DC and AC cabling and conduit, cable racks, communication cable/fibre and earthing material.

Install solar Panels and support structures:

• Structures, Panels and Inverter station will be free issued.
• It will be required by the contractor to:
  • Do some clearing of +- 5ha area – only shrubs and obstructive vegetation will be removed
  • No earthworks are required to level ground (other than at Inverter Station) – existing soil profile to be utilised as is.
  • Trenching and backfilling to specified standards.
  • Ramming and/or drilling with concrete foundations will be used depending on soil conditions.
  • No fence around PV Plant required – a Clearview fence and gate will only be installed around the Inverter Station
  • No road construction or grading is required – construction vehicles will establish internal roads by normal movement
  • No design services are required and will be issued.

MV Substation

Supply and install a new 11kV outdoor feeder/incomer bay in the existing MV Substation.

2. SCALE OR WORKS and TIME FRAME:

The construction starting date will be determined by the planned delivery date of the structures, currently planned to be begin November 2023.

3. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

The following are minimum requirements for the main Contractor position on this package:

• Good project execution track record based on similar construction related services previously rendered.
• Good track record based on compliance to the Mine Health and Safety Act and safety achievements in similar contracts executed.
• Must have a well-established safety management system.
• Must have a quality manage system that is based on the principles of ISO 9001. Detailed quality control plans for all associated civil construction works.
• Written confirmation that the Contractor is not under any liquidity or legal confinements that may affect the performance and deliverance of any contract.
• Must have knowledge and experience with project-, cost- and schedule management with associated software.
• Survey and setting out capabilities for intricate civil construction works.
• Detailed material take-off and estimating capabilities.
• Must demonstrate that they have a proper understanding of resourcing similar related construction works.
• Must be able to develop a detailed, resource loaded, construction schedule in preferably Primavera P6 or alternatively MS Project. Must be able to demonstrate that they have a good track record in achieving project completion dates.
• Licensed fabrication area with tools.
• Skilled artisans for the installation of the equipment.

4. RESPONDING TO THE EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

Information given by the prospective Contractors shall be treated in strict confidence.

Note, this Request for Expressions of Interest does not amount to any contractual obligation on the part of Ivanplats, and that Ivanplats is not obliged to invite Requests for Proposal or Tenders from any or all who express interest by responding to this Request for Expressions of Interest.

Ivanplats reserve the right to cancel, suspend or withdraw the Request for Expressions of Interest process at any time and will not be responsible for any costs incurred by potential Contractors. The prospective Contractor is responsible for all cost associated with preparation and submission of their Expression of Interest.

If any criteria within the Expression of Interest submission is determined to be non-compliant, the submission will not be processed. If, however, the Contractor declares its non-compliance and offers an alternative solution that is acceptable, this may be considered. Any information and/or documentation given and later found to be incorrect shall lead to disqualification of the prospective Contractor.

This document does not entail or imply any commitment on the part of Ivanplats, either financial or otherwise, nor shall it be considered a specific invitation to tender. This does not represent or constitute any obligation or commitment of Ivanplats to enter into any agreement with any entity or organisation.

Canvassing will lead to automatic disqualification of the prospective Contractor.

Late submission will not be acceptable. Any application(s) received after the closing date will be considered as late and disqualified.
