MRC is issuing this Request for Expressions of Interest (EOI) to attract interested suppliers from the Mokopane Community to participate in the Tendering/RFQ/RFP process as the main Contractor on the following package:

1. General Description of the Works

The Scope of Works (refer to the above package description).

2. SCALE OR WORKS and TIME FRAME:

The below table provides a high-level overview of the major equipment/material to give an indication of the scale of required supplies (The list may not be regarded as final):

Suppliers must be capable to deliver projects of this are expected to prepare for RFQ/RFX submission (Details and Drawings attached). Supplier must be able to provide a Gantt chart programme schedule.

The below table is a preliminary high-level time frame on the above estimated works:

3. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

The following are minimum requirements for the main Contractor/suppliers position on this package:

• Quality Management applicable to the SANS ISO 9001 Standards.
• Quality control plans listing the process steps chronologically, referencing standards and internal control shall be required. Traceability of materials and workmanship is essential.
• The product must meet all safety standards according to the Occupational Health and Safety Act (SANS 10142-1:2006).
• Suppliers that will be shortlisted may undergo an MRC’s rigorous engineering audit inspection.
• The supplier shall have proven and documented experience in fabrication controls associated with compliance to SANS 2001-CS1.
• Generally the notes on drawings reference fabrication detailing and presentation welding in compliance to AWS D1.1. so the supplier shall present examples at the time of tendering(SANS 3834 as welding will be accepted after scrutiny);
• The corrosion protection offered shall be in line with the drawing requirements and shall be clarified at the time of tendering.
• Refer to Murray and Roberts Cementation standard terms and conditions.

4. Major Requirements Business Capabilities:
   • Business Requirements:

• Supplier shall have a registered business and the nature of your existing business must be relevant to the field.
• Business income statement must be submitted.
• Written confirmation that the Contractor is not in liquidation, insolvency, or litigation Supplier must have financial means to deliver the job.
• List of employed people and in roles must be submitted.
• Location of your business premises (offices/warehousing/vehicles/handling equipment etc).
• Pictures of the workshop must be presented with the submission.
• Previous work with references.
• CIDB Grade Certificate (CE) will be preferred

5. RESPONDING TO THE EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

Information given by the prospective Contractors shall be treated in strict confidence.

Note, this Request for Expressions of Interest does not amount to any contractual obligation on the part of Murray & Roberts Cementation (Pty) Ltd (MRC). MRC is not obliged to invite Requests for Proposal or Tenders from any or all who express interest by responding to this Request for Expressions of Interest.

MRC reserve the right to cancel, suspend or withdraw the Request for Expressions of Interest process at any time and will not be responsible for any costs incurred by potential Contractors. The prospective Contractor is responsible for all cost associated with preparation and submission of their Expression of Interest.

If any criteria within the Expression of Interest submission is determined to be non-compliant, the submission will not be processed. If, however, the Contractor declares its non-compliance and offers an alternative solution that is acceptable, this may be considered. Any information and/or documentation given and later found to be incorrect shall lead to disqualification of the prospective Contractor.

This document does not entail or imply any commitment on the part of MRC, either financial or otherwise, nor shall it be considered a specific invitation to tender. This does not represent or constitute any obligation or commitment of MRC to enter into any agreement with any entity or organisation.

Canvassing will lead to automatic disqualification of the prospective Contractor.

In the event that any information furnished is incorrect, inaccurate, misleading or amounts to a misrepresentation of whatsoever nature, MRC reserves the right, exercised in its sole and absolute discretion, to cancel your submission or take other appropriate legal action against your enterprise.

Ivanplats (Pty) Ltd confirms it may appoint MRC (MRC) and has not appointed or mandated any other agents or representatives to perform juristic or any other acts on behalf or in the name of MRC will not be held responsible for any expectations or obligations arising from agreements entered into between a third party and an unlawful representative acting as an agent.

Late submission will not be acceptable. Any application(s) received after the closing date will be considered as late and will be excluded.

Vendors who do not match the requirements will be excluded from the RFQ juncture. Priority will be granted to qualifying suppliers.
